Dog Life: your team’s shared feed
Dog Life is a private space for the dog team you have invited. It brings photos, messages, milestones and walk requests together. Other dog teams cannot follow your feed.
How do I share a photo or message?
Open Dog Life and choose a new post. Write a message, choose a photo from your library or use the camera. Allow camera access if prompted. Tap the share button at the top to publish to your team.
Who reacted, and what is new?
The post shows who has given it a paw. A number on the Dog Life tab indicates new, unseen activity.
How do I ask someone to take my walk?
Open your assigned walk on Plan and create a request. Choose everyone else on the team or selected people. Recipients can respond in Dog Life; when someone accepts, the assignment is updated and the handover appears in the feed.
When do I get notifications?
With notifications enabled in the app and allowed in iOS, the app can notify you about other members’ photo posts and walk requests. Plain text posts and paws do not trigger notifications. Delivery can be delayed; open Dog Life to check for updates.
Dog Life is included in version 1.3. Get the latest version on the App Store and share everyday moments with your dog team.
The team coordinator creates the dog team
The team coordinator invites the others and must be signed in to iCloud with available storage for the shared plan.
Participants use the app on their own iPhone and must also be signed in to iCloud. They do not need available iCloud storage to join the dog team.
Does everyone need the app on their own phone?
Yes. A Dog's Life! is designed for a team where each person has the app on their own iPhone and uses their own profile and iCloud account. One person creates the dog team and invites everyone else — do not create a separate team for each person.
The app is not designed for passing one phone around and switching between people. If you choose Invite later, you initially have only a local plan for yourself and the guest. The guest is a helper without their own access to the app.
How do I invite others?
The team coordinator creates the invitation in the app, then sends the invitation link to the participant. The app does not send an email automatically.
- Start the invitation: Go to Dog team → Invite others to the dog team.
- Enter the participant’s Apple Account: Use the email address they use for iCloud on their iPhone. Ask them if you are unsure — it may differ from their usual contact address.
- Create the invitation link: Follow the steps in the app. The app generates a link that gives the invited participant access to the dog team.
- Send the link yourself: Use the sharing options, such as Messages or Mail, choose the recipient and send the message. Alternatively, choose Copy Link, paste the link into an email or message and send it to the participant. Creating or copying the link is not enough — you also need to send it.
- The participant opens the link: They must have A Dog's Life! installed on their own iPhone and be signed in to iCloud with the Apple Account used for the invitation. Open the link on that iPhone and follow the instructions to join the dog team. They should not create a separate dog team.
Repeat the invitation for the other participants using their own Apple Accounts. The team coordinator needs available iCloud storage for the shared plan; participants do not need available iCloud storage.
Why isn't the plan syncing?
Check your internet connection, that you're signed in to iCloud and that the team coordinator has free iCloud storage for the shared data and photos. Participants do not need free iCloud storage for the shared team. Check the status under Dog team → Shared plan and tap Try syncing again if the button is shown.
How do I change the number of walks?
Under Dog team → Walk plan, you can choose 2–5 walks per day. Changes take effect the next day. Previous walks and history are kept.
Future walks with notes, manual assignments or a completed status are also kept, so some days may have extra walks.
